Xiaomi has already been said to be working on the Redmi K20’s successor, the Redmi K30. The company’s president also recently confirmed that the handset will support 5G connectivity and a hole-punch display. Its launch is tipped to take place before the end of 2019, while its sibling K30 Pro is rumored to make its appearance next year. The vanilla K30 was previously confirmed to support both NSA (Non-Standalone) and SA (Standalone) dual 5G mode. Now, a Xiaomi smartphone has just passed through China’s National Radio Authority with the M1911U2E model number. Sadly, the listing doesn’t give us any details regarding the device’s specifications. We can only speculate that this phone is the Redmi K30 considering the fact that it has 5G connectivity.
Redmi K30: Expected Specifications & Features
Firstly, the Redmi K30 will reportedly come with a pill-shaped cutout to house a dual selfie camera setup, similar to that of the Galaxy S10+. Moreover, powering the device should be a MediaTek 5G chipset. Specifically, it might be the Helio M70 5G modem that the company introduced earlier in the year. The brand might still use an OLED panel, similar to the Redmi K20 series. A quad-camera system on the back is also expected on the device and it might come with Android 10 pre-installed with MIUI 11 interface on top of course.
In terms of design, we have heard that Xiaomi will still stick with the ultra-slim bezels and glass-metal sandwich. As for the pricing, the K30 should be retailed at more than CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs. 20,500) in China.
However, you should take these with a grain of salt as there is still a chance that this Xiaomi Mi1911U2E smartphone could be a different handset. The company was also said to be developing a new device in the Mi MIX series, which will also support the 5G network. Therefore, you should stay tuned for more reliable information and official confirmations as well.
