Redmi India has just gone public about a special edition of its long-awaited Redmi K20 Pro. This version will be made out of real gold. There will be no more than twenty of them available for purchase at the price of Rs. 4,80,000.

Unlike what most people think, these handsets are not gold-plated though, but made out of gold with diamonds as embellishments, as per the company.

The way it is constructed is the reason why this edition is 15 times more expensive than a standard Redmi K20 Pro, which comes at the price of Rs. 27,999. At this price point, you will have a triple camera setup, Snapdragon 855 processor, in-display fingerprint sensor, and 6GB of RAM. However, the gold version is something else.

In comparison with this newly-announced version, the Redmi K20 Pro might look inferior, but in reality, it is a solid choice at this price bracket. Here is why.

First, this phone has the same chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, with the OnePlus 7 Pro. Its price has made it the cheapest smartphone to come equipped with this chipset. Before it, this title belonged to OnePlus 7. The appealing look with gradient finish is quite a looker.

Second, Redmi K20 Pro features a notch-less display with small bezels. On the rear, it sports a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP lens, and an 8MP secondary snapper. To remove the notch, the 20 MP selfie camera has a pop-up mechanism.

The whole thing is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery and runs on MIUI 10 based on Android Pie out of the box. This one cannot be compared to OxygenOS of OnePlus, but it does what it is supposed to do well.

Other specs include dual 4G, in-display fingerprint scanner, dual SIM card slots, and USB Type-C port.
