Redmi 9i has just been announced as the seventh model in the Redmi 9 series, positioned between the Redmi 9 and Redmi 9A. Highlights of the phone include a dewdrop-notch display, a beefy 5,000 mAh battery, and a gaming-centric Helio G25 SoC.

The Redmi 9i price in India is Rs. 8,299 if you want to grab the base option with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. For more storage, you can get the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model for Rs. 9,299. The first sales of this phone will start at 12 p.m on September 18th via multiple platforms, including Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home Stores, and many offline retail partners. Nature Green, Sea Blue, and Midnight Black are three color options of the new phone.
Redmi 9i: Specifications & Features
The device features an HD+ (1,600 x 720) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, dewdrop notch, and TUV Rheinland certification. Can you guess the size of the Redmi 9i’s display? Yes, it is 6.53 inches yet again. Powering the phone is an Helio G25 SoC, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64 / 128GB of storage. There are three card slots on this phone, meaning you can use two nano-SIM cards while expanding the phone’s storage with a microSD card.
Under the hood, the Redmi 9i is packed with a 5,000 mAh battery that can ensure a long battery life. According to Redmi, the Enhanced Lifespan Battery on this phone can ensure 2-3 years of battery life span. Aside from the Android 10-based MIUI 12, the handset also has a system-wide dark mode, which can further improve its battery life. There are only a single 13MP camera at the back of this phone and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies. Just like the Redmi 9A, there isn’t a fingerprint sensor available on this smartphone, so you will have to rely on Face Unlock feature for biometrics security.
