Redmi 9A & Redmi Power Bank To Launch In India On 11 February

Redmi 9A could make its debut in India on 11 February with dual rear cameras, 5,000mAh battery; and Redmi power bank could also be introduced at the event.

Redmi India has just announced on its official Twitter account that it is planning to launch its first Redmi smartphone in 2020 at 12 p.m on 11 February. The smartphone mentioned in the Tweet might be the Redmi 9A, and its dedicated page on Xiaomi’s official website gives us some details about the upcoming phone.
The page reveals that the Redmi 9A will feature a dual-camera setup at the back for perfect portraits. It seems like the successor to the Redmi 8A will come with an additional sensor (possibly a depth unit) instead of just a single rear camera. The handset should take on the Realme C3, which has just been announced today at a starting price of Rs. 6,999.


The dedicated page also confirms that the handset will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, which is also the same as the Realme C3. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we believe that the Redmi 9A could support the 18W fast charging standard. It will also feature a textured finish that is said to provide a superior hand feel as well as a strong grip. You can also see that the handset will likely retain the middle strip of the Redmi 8A. The photo also shows that it will arrive in Blue color.
Aside from Redmi India’s Tweet, Xiaomi India’s head Manu Kumar Jain also revealed an important detail on his new Tweet. At the launch event, the brand will introduce not one but two products. We have no idea about the other product, but the page teases that it will belong to a new category. It could suggest that there might be a new smartphone category or an entirely different product category. However, the latter is more likely and we speculate that it could be a power bank since Redmi hasn’t released any in India up until now.
