Redmi 9 Power is officially confirmed on Redmi India's Twitter to make its debut in India at 12 p.m IST on December 17th. The launch event will be live-streamed as expected. Aside from confirming the official launch date, REdmi India’s event page also revealed several key specs of the device, including a beefy battery, Qualcomm chipset, Hi-Res audio support, high storage option, and 48MP main sensor inside a vertically-aligned camera setup. Based on the current details we have gathered, the upcoming Redmi 9 Power might be a rebranded model of the recently-announced Redmi Note 9 4G.
If the Redmi 9 Power is indeed the rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G, they should have an identical set of specs. That means the Redmi 9 Power will feature a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a dewdrop notch at the top for a selfie camera. Powering the device should be the Snapdragon 662 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, and Adreno 610 GPU. It will most likely have a microSD card slot for storage expansion and run on Android 10 out of the box along with MIUI 12 interface.
For photography, it will be equipped with a triple camera at the back and an 8MP camera on the front for selfies. The rear setup will include a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP lens for portrait shots. 6,000 mAh battery and 18W fast charging support are also expected on the device. As for the Redmi 9 Power price in India, we believe that it should be priced around Rs. 11,000 as the Redmi Note 9 4G price in China is CNY 999 (around Rs. 11,100) for the entry-level option.
