Redmi 8A Specs & Design Revealed: 5,000mAh Battery, 4GB RAM, And More

The new TENAA listing of the Remdi 8A has just given us a good idea about the upcoming phone. It will come with a 5,000 mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and more.

The specifications of the Redmi 8A have just been listed on its listing on TENAA. The listing also shows us the design of the phone. The Redmi 8A will most likely be positioned in the budget segment as a direct successor to the Redmi 7A. The device comes with a larger display, a new variant with 4GB of RAM, more storage, and a beefier battery as well. Recently, the phone also passed through NBTC’s website, so we believe that its launch is just around the corner. With leaked photos and specs, we now have nearly the whole picture of what to expect from the upcoming Redmi 8A, though we still don’t know which chipset will power the phone.

The Redmi 8A is listed to come with a 6.21-inch TFT panel with HD+ (1,520 x 720p) resolution and a dewdrop notch on top for the selfie camera. Software-wise, it will ship with Android 9.0 Pie with Xiaomi’s MIUI 19 on top to take care of the software side of things. It is revealed to be driven by an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2GHz, though its name is still unknown. Paired with the chipset is 2/3/4GB of RAM, and 16/32/64GB of expandable storage (up to 512GB).

On the imaging front, the upcoming Redmi 8A will be equipped with a 12MP sensor at the back. The rear sensor will be located in the top center of the phone with an LED flash below it. Security-wise, it won’t have a fingerprint reader, so users will have to unlock the phone with the Face Unlock feature. Fueling the setup will be a beefy 5,000 mAh battery, which is a big upgrade over the 4,000 mAh cell on the Redmi 7A. Its dimensions are 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4 mm and it weighs 188gs. Finally, users will have multiple color variants to choose - Pink, Grey, Purple, Green, White, Blue, Red, and Black.
