Redmi 8A Dual is the latest offering by Redmi in India. Previously, we though the handset would arrive in the country as Redmi 9. However, it seems like the device is an upgraded model of the Redmi 8A launched last year. The handset is expected to take on the recently-released Realme C3 in the entry-level segment with dual rear cameras and Aura XGrip design. Other key highlights of the phone include a Snapdragon 439 chipset, 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, and 6.22-inch HD+ display.
Redmi 8A Dual: Price in India & Availability
The Redmi 8A Dual price in India is Rs. 6,499 for the entry-level model with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. You can upgrade to the 3GB RAM / 32GB storage for a price of Rs. 6,999. It will go on sale in one week from now, starting from 18 February via Amazon.com, Mi Home stores, and Mi.com.
It is available in Sky White, Midnight Grey, and Sea Blue color variants.
Redmi 8A Dual: Specifications & Features
The phone has a 6.22-inch HD+ display that features a water-drop notch at the top. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. At its core, there is a Snapdragon 439 SoC, which is aided by 2/3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. If you are not happy with the amount of storage, you can also expand it using a microSD card (up to 512GB). The phone also gets a new design called Aura XGrip and a P2i coating for splash resistance.
In terms of camera, you can already tell by the Redmi 8A Dual name that it has a dual-camera setup on the rear, increasing from a single camera on its predecessor Redmi 8A. Powering the phone is a beefy 5,000 mAh battery that supports charging at an 18W rate via a USB-C port. However, you will have to buy an additional 18W charger, as it is only bundled with a 10W charger. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
