The Redmi 8 is the forthcoming budget smartphone from Xiaomi and it will arrive as a successor to the Redmi 7 that launched earlier in the year. Xiaomi India’s managing director has just teased the launch of the Redmi 8 in India ahead of its official launch. Now, the device appears to pass through Google Play Console along with several key specs. According to the listing, it will come with a dated octa-core Snapdragon 439 SoC, which is already tipped in previous leaks. It is also the same chipset that is used on the Redmi 8A. Even though the Snapdragon 439 has a total of eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores, it can’t be compared against the Snapdragon 632 SoC on its predecessor, Redmi 7.

Moreover, the listing shows that the Redmi 8 will come with 3GB RAM, though it was recently spotted on . Moreover, the handset will pack a HD+ display with 1,520 x 720p resolution and a screen density of 320p. While the listing on Google Play Console doesn’t have any photo, the device will likely sport a Dotch-notched display. At the back, it is expected to feature a polycarbonate glass, a fingerprint reader, and a dual camera setup. In terms of software, Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 is likely available on the device.

As for the battery and cameras, the listing doesn’t reveal anything about them. However, we won’t have to wait too long for those, as the Redmi 8 is coming very soon. It should be announced at a Xiaomi’s launch event in China. Moreover, unlike its predecessor, the phone is expected to launch alongside a ‘Pro’ version that is tipped to be called Redmi 8 Pro. It might come with a 48MP main sensor and a Dotch notch display with thin bezels. Moreover, it should feature a more powerful chipset compared to the Redmi 8.
