It seems we are in the middle of a megapixel race on smartphones, as 48MP sensors begin to make way for 64MP sensors. And the first smartphone in the world equipped with a 64MP camera has just launched, and it is called Realme XT.

The most outstanding feature of this smartphone is the quad rear camera cluster, with a 64MP main sensor. This is an ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor manufactured by Samsung, the size of each pixel is 0.8 micrometers equivalent to that of the 48MP sensor.
Aside from the main sensor, the quad rear camera setup also has an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (119 degrees), a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. Realme XT doesn't have a telephoto camera, but with 64MP photos, you can zoom in despite the lack of optical zoom and the level of detail will still be guaranteed. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera housed on the water-drop notch.

Other specifications of Realme XT are quite similar to the Realme 5 Pro. It is powered by a Snapdragon 712 SoC, coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. Fueling the phone will be a beefy 4,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging solution.
However, the Realme XT comes with a better display as Realme uses a Super AMOLED panel on the phone instead of the LCD one on the Realme 5 Pro. The display has a size of 6.4 inches and FHD+ resolution. For security, there is a fingerprint scanner embedded below the display. Realme XT retains the 3.5mm jack, supports dual SIM, runs Android 9 Pie.

Realme XT will start selling in the second half of September, but the price has not been disclosed. Realme is faster than Xiaomi in launching the 64MP camera smartphone, as the brand will announce the duo Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro tomorrow. In particular, Redmi Note 8 Pro will also be a smartphone equipped with a 64MP camera.
