Even though 5G has yet become available in India, budget 5G smartphones are so popular right now with brands launching many new 5G devices. One of the latest entrants is the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G launched on February 24. With its starting price of Rs 16,999, the smartphone is the least expensive 5G smartphone in the Indian market. You also get a display with a high refresh rate, a powerful SoC, and a large battery with fast charging. If you plan on purchasing this device, check out our Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G review.
Realme Nazro 30 Pro 5G Price
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs 16,999 for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is a bit more expensive at Rs 19,999. Consumers can purchase the phone on Realme's official site and Flipkart.
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Design
The smartphone comes with an all-plastic body with an ergonomic design. At around 194g, it does not feel really heavy. In terms of color, there are two options including Sword Black and Blade Silver. The Blade Silver one does a pretty good job at hiding fingerprints.
The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the phone and works very well. All you need to do to unlock the phone is a quick tab. Face recognition is fast as well. All the physical buttons are within the reach of your fingers.
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Display
The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G has a 6.5-inch full HD+ LCD display with good color saturation and brightness. It would have been better if it had an AMOLED panel. However, a 120Hz refresh rate seems to make up for it. It is worth noting that the display is at 90HZ when it is on the default “Auto” setting. To get the smoothest effect, you will have to change the refresh rate to 120Hz manually. In this setting, the refresh rate will depend on what content is on the screen and switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz.
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Specs & Performance
The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek 800U SoC with a built-in 5G modem. The chipset is powerful as well as power-efficient. It is also the same chip used on the Realme X7 smartphone which has the same price as that of the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G’s base variant.
The internal storage of the Narzo 30 Pro 5G is expandable via the hybrid SIM slot. However, this means you have to sacrifice not to use a second SIM card. The phone has Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band WiFi ac, a number of sensors for satellite navigation systems. There is no Ip rating for water resistance. However, Realme claims that the smartphone can handle light splashes of water.
The performance of the device has been pretty solid. It can not only handle daily tasks but also multitasking and demanding tasks like gaming. There is no heating issue except for gaming. The back of the phone does get a bit warm. Thanks to the high refresh rate, the interface is snappy to use.
However, the software of the phone is a bit of a letdown as it is Android 10 instead of Android 11. It isn’t a deal-breaker since it will receive the Realme UI 2.0 update soon. The software is still functional. There are many options, gestures, and shortcuts to customize your experience. You will have some pre-loaded apps but they can be disabled or uninstalled.
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Camera
The smartphone comes with a triple-camera setup on the back with a main 48MP shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, you have a 16MP selfie shooter.
In the daytime, the main camera produces great shots with good details and colors. Close-ups have a smooth bokeh effect but with excellent details. The digital zoom is only 10x. You have different shooting modes including Expert, Portrait, Pano, Slo-mo, etc. The macro camera isn’t great though.
However, the phone doesn’t perform really well in low-light situations with a lack of details in all the photos. The dedicated Night mode can help to improve the exposure but not the details.
When you are shooting on a bright, clear day, the selfie camera isn’t bad. For video, the phone is capable of recording video at 4K and 1080p.
Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Battery
The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G has a beefy 5,000mAh battery. It can easily last over a day of use with medium to heavy usage. You have 30W Dart Charge fast charging which takes slightly more than an hour to charge the phone to 100%.
