Recently, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth recently tweeted to announce that they have sold 5.5 million smartphones in the Realme 5 series in 2019. This shows that the series has attracted a lot of attention from smartphone users.
Reportedly, the Realme 5 officially launched last August. The phone packs a Snapdragon 665 chipset and comes in memory configurations, including 3GB RAM + 32GB of storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB of storage. On the front, it has a 6.5-inch HD + screen, with a teardrop notch housing a 13-megapixel selfie camera. At the back, the device has a quad-camera setup including a 12MP main sensor + 8MP lens for super wide-angle shooting + a 2MP macro camera + a 2MP depth sensor. It also features a 5,000 mAh battery, runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and has a starting price of Rs. 8,999 in India.

Meanwhile, the Realme 5 Pro launch date in India is 4th September last year. It has a 6.3-inch full HD + screen, uses a Snapdragon 712 chipset and comes in three variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB of storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB of storage. Compared to the vanilla version, its main sensor is upgraded to 48MP resolution, while the other three sensors remain the same. For selfies, it gets a 16-megapixel sensor and fueled by a 4,035mAh battery that supports 20W fast charging. The Realme 5 Pro price in India is Rs. 12,990.

Finally, the Realme 5s, which was launched in November 2019, was the latest addition to the series. It shares most of the specs with the vanilla model, with the exception of the main camera with a resolution of 48MP. Of course, with this upgrade, the Realme 5s price in India also increased to Rs. 9,999.

The sales figure of the series is expected to increase significantly in the near future as the brand is about to release one more offering in the series called Realme 5i on 9 January. The Realme 5i price in India is reportedly set at Rs. 13,000 at launch. Specs of the phone include a 5,000mAh battery, quad rear cameras, Qualcomm chipset (could be Snapdragon 665 SoC), and a 6.5-inch display with a dewdrop notch.
