Realme C Series Announced To Reach 10.2 Million Units Sold Globally

In a new Tweet, Realme announced that more than 10.2 million Realme C-series smartphones have been sold in the global market.

Chinese phone maker Realme has gone on Twitter and shared that its budget Realme C series has reached 10.2 million units sold since it was first announced in October 2018. There are currently two devices in the Realme C series that make their way to India, Realme C1 & Realme C2. As per Realme tweet, the 10.2 million units sold is achieved in the global market, not in a specific market.

This announcement comes as the Chinese phone maker is planning to release a new smartphone in the Realme C series in India, possibly dubbed Realme C3. The handset was listed in the FCC database and the listing reveals that the device will feature a vertically-stacked camera setup with the main sensor placed at the top. The size of the camera module suggests that the Realme C3 might feature a dual-camera setup with an LED flash or a triple camera cluster. Its schematic diagram on the FCC also shows a fingerprint reader at the back of the phone.

According to recent data of the IDC, Realme’s market share took a hit in the latest period. The brand was reported to surpass Samsung to become the second-biggest phone vendor in India during the festive season with a market share of 16.74 percent. However, that could not save it from witnessing a sharp fall in the next two months. In the period, Samsung managed to climb back to the second position with a market share of 21.08 percent while Oppo stayed the same and Vivo witnessed a rise. Meanwhile, the market share of Realme dropped to just 8.23 percent as of November last year.
