Realme 1, which was first launched way back in May last year, was a great device for its price range. The Realme 1 is also the first phone launched by Oppo’s former sub-brand in India. After launching 11 smartphones 14 months since its first appearance in May 2018, the company finally reaches 10 million shipments, proving it to be one of the strong names out there.
When Realme 1 arrived back in May 2018, it was a great deal and a phone worth recommending. 11 phones and 14 months later, the company finally can join the big boys league after reaching 10 million shipments. The brand’s Weibo account announced the impressive milestone that is achieved between 16 May 2018 and now. So on average, it shipped around 22,000 units every day.
Looking back to Realme’s path, it first started as Oppo’s sub-brand with the launch of the Realme 1. It then went independent from Oppo with the Realme 2 and 2 Pro, which were later followed by the popular Realme 3 and 3 Pro. Recently, the company finally announced its proper upper mid-range smartphones called Realme X with a Snapdragon 710 SoC and a pop-up selfie camera.
To recall, the Realme X was initially launched in China in May, and it made its way to India in July this year. Notably, the handset was the first phone from the brand to feature a pop-up selfie camera. It is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In terms of software and security, it boots Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 and features an on-screen fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. In terms of camera, there is a dual 48MP + 5MP camera setup at its back. Finally, wrapping up the specs list is the 3,765 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support (VOOC 3.0). It is currently up for sale in India for Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 19,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and 8GB RAM / 128GB storage option, respectively.
