Design And Build
Realme 7i mobile inherits the design language of Realme 7 and 7 Pro but you can still see the sacrifices the company has made to keep costs down.

The glossy panel on the back looks cheap and the plastic material does contribute to that. Durability is non-existent as the phone can easily be scratched after a few days and is a real fingerprint magnet.
The only highlight here is the camera setup that sparks some trendy design. You have a headphone jack and a USB-C port at the bottom.
The 6.5-inch display has thin bezels on three of its sides but the punch-hole and the chin are quite visible.
Performance
Despite all Realme’s efforts to boost the performance of its phones in recent years and also Realme 7i specs, the phone’s ability is inconsistent.
The phone sports a 90Hz display and it’s among a few handsets offering this high refresh rate at this price point. The refresh rate is paired with a 720p resolution, which works just fine, with apps and text look sharp and there is no blurry interface.

While the scrolling experience is smooth and fast, under harsh sunlight, you will find it hard to see anything. If you want the best display, however, you are better off with the Redmi Note 9, which comes at the same price but offers a 1080p resolution.
A 90Hz screen alone can’t make for a decent phone and Realme 7i specs can attest. Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 paired with 64GB of onboard storage and 4GB of RAM. This combination isn’t bad but it needs optimization for the best results possible.
The Realme UI is what makes things worse for the phone. Texting, streaming videos, gaming, and surfing social media sites are fine on the Realme 7i but there is no consistency so expect to see stutter and delay from time to time.

Realme 7i specs don’t exactly allow for a lot of optimization so you will have mixed results with gaming. Asphalt 9 and Call of Duty are a mess but Shadow Fight 2 and Candy Crush are fine.
Realme UI is much like any other version on Realme phones. Everything is clean and you can easily access all the basic functions. There are some pre-load apps that you will never need. While some of them can be uninstalled, others can’t.
The loudspeaker is tiny so expect much with sounds. Fortunately, you can plug in a pair of wired headphones.
The cellular network works as it’s supposed to and network dropping is rare.
Camera
Realme 7i specs when it comes to photography share a striking resemblance to that of Realme 7 and in reality, the two work similarly.

The setup consists of a 64MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide snapper, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome camera.
In broad daylight, the performance is decent but the setup falls short in low light. Sharpness decreases when you zoom and the loss of quality is visible. When it’s cloudy, the situation is worse as grains start to appear and the phone softens the details to hide them.
Realme tends to oversaturate photos so what you have is a bunch of dramatic-looking shots. The primary 64MP camera can take in lots of details but tricky lighting will render it useless.
The 8MP ultra-wide snapper boosts colors when the situation doesn’t call for it and details take a big hit. When you move from the center of the frame toward the edges, distortion, and loss of sharpness become visible.
The monochrome camera is supposed to take in more detail but in reality, it doesn’t help much. Portrait mode is nice with enough subject separation.
Selfie shots look dramatic and the amount of details is high. However, the way the phone processes the shots actually decreases the quality of the photos.
Battery

The 5000mAh battery is one of the highlights among Realme 7i specs. The phone can easily last to the second day under moderate use with the 90Hz display on. The 18W fast charging can top up the phone in merely 2 hours.
