The Realme 5i launch date in India has been confirmed by Realme India’s CEO Madhav Sheth on his Twitter and its listing on Flipkart. The handset will be launched in the budget segment on 9th January. It is expected to arrive as a direct successor to the Realme 3i, launched last year at a price of Rs. 7,999. Just like its predecessor, the Realme 5i will most likely be a camera and battery-centric smartphone. According to Flipkart listing, the phone will be packed with a massive 5,000 mAh battery and a quad-camera lens setup on the rear, which seems to be similar to that of the Realme 5, including the main sensor, a depth sensor, a macro camera, and an ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture.
In addition, the upcoming Realme 5i will come with a Snapdragon SoC under the hood. Rumor has it that the phone might be powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset, aided by 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. On the front, it could sport a 6.5-inch screen with a water-drop notch at the top to house a selfie camera. The screen will likely be an LCD panel and support HD+ resolution. As for its camera setup, it could sport a 12MP main sensor alongside 8MP + 2MP + 2MP on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera up front.

Software-wise, it should ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box with ColorOS 6.0.1 on top. Color variants might include Blue and Green colors, with gradient finish, not diamond-cut design like other Realme 5 smartphones. As mentioned, fueling the phone will be a massive 5,000 mAh battery, but we are not sure whether it will support fast charging tech. To recall, the Realme 3i doesn’t support any sort of fast charging solution. Finally, it will likely feature a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear for security.
The Realme 5i price in India is expected to be around Rs. 9,000. Only around two days since its launch, we will know everything about the phone soon, so stay tuned, we will keep updated as soon as we hear more about it.
