Realme 5i Goes Official With Snapdragon 665 & Quad Rear Cameras

Realme 5i is the fourth addition to the Realme 5 lineup and it features a Snapdragon 665 SoC, quad rear cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery as highlights.

Realme has started 2020 with the release of the X50 5G and Realme 5i. The latter is the fourth addition to the Realme 5 series, which was recently announced to reach over 5.5 million units sold. It is a camera and battery-centric phone with a Snapdragon 665 SoC and a massive 5,000mAh battery. Other than that, the device also features a gradient finish and an HD+ water-drop notched display. It will be officially introduced in India at 12:30 pm on 9 January.

Realme 5i: Availability & Price

The Reame 5i price is around Rs. 11,200 for the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Its top-end 4GB RAM / 64GB storage model is priced at around Rs. 13,300. It is available in two color variants: Blue and Green. 

As mentioned, the Realme 5i launch date in India is 9 January, but the brand hasn’t revealed when the handset will be up for grabs in the country.

Realme 5i: Features & Specifications

The specifications of the Realme 5i is quite similar to its sibling Realme 5 launched last year. The most notable difference between the two is the selfie camera. While the Realme 5i sports an 8MP selfie camera, the Realme 5 is equipped with a 13MP unit. Around the back, the handset rocks a quad-camera lens setup, including a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP portrait camera. Its cameras can capture 4K video @ 30fps, slow-motion video @ 120fps, and support super night mode.

On the front, it has a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution and a water-drop notch at the top to accommodate the 8MP selfie camera. Under the hood, a Snapdragon 665 SoC is ticking at its core with the help of 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB of storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 256GB). The whole package is fueled by a beefy 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging tech. On the software side of things, it comes with Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0.1 pre-installed. For security, it gets a fingerprint reader mounted at the back.
