Realme 5 & Realme 5 Pro With Four Rear Cameras Unveiled, Prices Start From Rs 9,999

Realme has just announced the Realme 5 series in the Indian market, including Realme 5 and 5 Pro. The two handsets are launched as the two most affordable smartphones from the brand to come with a quad-camera setup. Both phones feature a primary camera coupled with an ultra-wide lens, a Super Macro lens, and a telephoto lens. Other highlights of the duo include Qualcomm’s latest chipset, a large battery, and an almost bezel-less screen.
Realme 5 & 5 Pro: Price
The Realme 5 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the base variant with 3GB RAM / 32GB of storage, while the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage and 4GB RAM / 128GB options are offered for Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 11,999, respectively. As for the more premium Realme 5 Pro, it is retailed at Rs. 13,999 for the entry-level model with 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage.
Other two options with 6GB RAM / 64GB storage and 8GB RAM / 128GB storage cost Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 16,999, respectively. Users can start pre-ordering the duo at 12 p.m from 28 August and they will be available for sale from 4 September. They are also said to make their way to the offline market as well.
As for launch offers, Realme 5 and 5 Pro buyers can get up to Rs. 2,000 cashback on payment with Paytm UPI. You can also make the purchases via Realme.com to get up to Rs. 20,000 benefits and buyers Paytm First membership that worths Rs. 750. Flipkart users can get up to six months of no-cost EMIs.
Realme 5 & 5 Pro: Specifications
The Realme 5 packs a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 665 SoC, which makes it the first phone in the country to come with the chipset. With the Snapdragon 665, the phone is said to deliver better camera, gaming, and security.
As mentioned, Realme offers three memory variants for the Realme 5: 3GB of RAM / 32GB storage, 4GB of RAM / 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM / 128GB storage. Users are free to expand its storage via a microSD card slot. In terms of camera, the handset is equipped with a quad camera system on the rear.
The setup includes a 12MP main sensor, an 8MP wide-angle camera with 119-degree field of view, 2MP Super Macro lens, and a 2MP telephoto lens. Software-wise, it ships with ColorOS v6.0, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The brand offers two colour variants - Crystal Purple and Crystal Blue. On paper, the Realme 5 specs seem to be a lot for its very affordable price tag - Rs. 9,999. Let's wait and see how it performs in real-life conditions.
Moving to the Pro model, it is driven by a Snapdragon 712 octa-core processor, which is the same as the Vivo Z1 Pro. It is available in three memory configurations - 4GB RAM / 64GB of storage, 6GB RAM / 64GB of storage, and 8GB RAM / 128GB of storage. On the front, it sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a dewdrop notch on the top. The whole setup is fueled by a 4,035 mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging solution. Taking care of the software side of things is the same Oppo’s ColorOS 6.0 on the Realme 5. Unlike its sibling, the Realme 5 Pro is available in Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green.
On the imaging front, the handset also comes with four rear cameras as well, including a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor, an 8MP wide-angle shooter with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP Super Macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera, which is slightly higher than the 13MP shooter on the Realme 5.
