Realme 3 vs Redmi Note 7S vs Galaxy M20: Here Is The Clear Winner

The Realme 3 seems like a decent option for its price but the Redmi Note 7S is just too good to pass.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S is the latest addition to the Redmi Note series in India. The handset comes with some upgrades over the Redmi Note 7 like the 48MP rear camera. However, the device will have to overcome many strong contenders in the Indian market which is filled with great budget offerings like Galaxy M20 and Realme 3.

The Realme 3 android phone has gained a massive attention in the country with an impressive sale figure. Let’s see if the phone can hold up against the newly-launched Redmi Note 7S and a great device from Samsung, the Galaxy M20 or not.

Realme 3 vs. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S vs. Galaxy M20: Availability & Price

The Redmi Note 7S is priced from Rs. 10,999 for the base variant with 3GB of RAM + 32GB of storage. The top-end variant with 4GB of RAM + 64GB of storage will cost Rs. 12,999.

It is expected to come in Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue color variants and go on sale from 23 May via Xiaomi India’s website and Flipkart. It is also said to come to Mi Home stores on 24 May.

On the other hand, the Realme 3 buy is available for Rs 8,999 for the 3GB RAM /32GB of storage model while you can buy Realme 3 variant with 4GB RAM / 64GB of storage for Rs. 10,999. It comes in Radiant Blue, Classic Black, and Dynamic Black color options.

The last phone, Galaxy M20, is offered in two memory configurations as well. Its 3GB RAM model’s price is set at Rs. 10,990 while the price of the 4GB RAM variant is set at Rs. 12,990. Both of the variants have 64GB of storage and they are up for sale via online channels only, including Amazon.in and Samsung India’s online store.

Display & Camera

Realme 3

In terms of display, the Realme 3 oppo sports a 6.22-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Its display also has a water-drop notch on the front housing a selfie camera.

Redmi Note 7S

The Redmi Note 7S comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Just like the Realme 3, it features a small dewdrop notch for a selfie camera.

Galaxy M20

The Galaxy M20 packs a 6.3-inch PLS TFT panel with FHD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It doesn’t have a Gorilla Glass protection but it has a higher resolution compared to the Realme 3. Similar to the two phones, it also has a water-drop notch on the front for the selfie camera.

You can clearly see that the Realme 3 mobile is quite behind with a HD+ resolution while the other two both have a FHD+ resolution.

Realme 3's rear cameras

Moving to the camera aspect, the Realme 3 brand features a dual camera setup with a 13MP main camera and a secondary 2MP depth unit. On the other hand, the Galaxy M20 has a 13MP + 5MP dual camera setup while the Redmi Note 7S shines with a 48MP and 5MP camera system.  It is clearly that the Redmi Note 7S has better rear cameras. However, we still have to do wait for the detailed camera review to see if it is actually better than the other two in real-life conditions.

On the front, the Realme and Redmi offerings share the same 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens while the Galaxy M20 only features an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Performance, Battery & Software

The Real me 3 is driven by an MTK Helio P70 SoC which is decent for its price. During our time with the phone, it worked pretty well even with multi-tasking. Its large 4,230 mAh battery is able to fuel the handset for the whole day with tasks like listening to music, browsing social media apps, watching YouTube, and such.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M20 is powered by an Exynos 7904 SoC which is also decent for daily usage. Its massive 5,000 mAh battery is way enough to fuel the phone for the whole day or even to the next day. You can recharge its battery with 15W fast charging solution as well.

Finally, the Redmi Note 7S is powered by a Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor which is great for its price range. Its large 4,000 mAh battery is also enough to last for the entire day if you use the phone for light-intensive tasks like watching videos, browsing social media websites, and so on. It also has the fastest 18W quick charging support compared to the other two.
