POCO X3 India Launch Teased, Might Be Priced Higher Than ₹20000

Karamchand Rameshwar

POCO India GM C Manmohan has just given a hint, suggesting that the POCO X3 should make its debut in India soon.

The POCO X3 NFC was released globally earlier this week with the newly-announced Snapdragon 732G SoC. Shortly after the global launch event, POCO India GM C Manmohan posted a tweet asking Indian fans whether they want to see the new mid-range phone in the Indian market. This might be a hint that the phone will make its debut in the country soon, though the exact release date is still under wraps. C Manmohan also revealed that the POCO X3 price in India will be set at around  Rs. 20,000.

To recall, the handset was released in Germany at a starting price of €229 (around Rs. 19,900) for the base 6GB + 64GB model. In his tweet, Manmohan suggests that the handset will be priced at €229 + taxes, meaning that it could be more expensive here in India. That is quite uncommon since Xiaomi smartphones are usually priced higher in the European markets.

POCO X3: Specifications & Features

POCO X3 is the first smartphone to come with the recently-released Snapdragon 732G chipset. It features a 6.67-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a small punch-hole at the top of the display, housing a 20MP camera for selfies and video calls. It ships with Android 10-based MIUI 12 and POCO Launcher 2.0 to take care of the software side of things.

Cobalt Blue and Shadow Gray color options

For photography, Xiaomi equips the new mid-range phone with four cameras at the back, which are a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP portrait camera. Under the hood, it gets a 5,160 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and dual stereo speakers.
