POCO’s head C Manmohan has just confirmed that the POCO X2 in the Indian market will receive an upgrade to Android 11 in the future. In his tweet, POCO’s GM C Manmohan said that the POCO X2 will get an update to Android 11, but he didn’t provide an exact date for that. Meanwhile, the brand stays silent about the POCO F1 Android 11 update. Anyway, it is still quite early for that as Google has just released the Android 11 Developer Preview last week and the official rollout won’t be out for a couple of months so there is still hope.
The Android 11 Developer Preview is said to offer a revamped notification log, better gesture navigations, notifications bubbles for more messaging apps, native reverse wireless charging, screen recording, better app permissions, and more. There will be more upgrades to be announced at the upcoming Google I/O 2020 that is set to take place in May.
POCO X2: Price & Specifications
Announced on 4th February, the POCO X2 is the first offering since POCO becomes independent from Xiaomi. The device is offered in three memory configurations as well: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The price for the base variant is Rs. 15,999, while the middle variant costs Rs. 16,999. The top-end model is significantly more expensive as it is retailed at Rs. 19,999.
The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 730G SoC, aided by up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The phone also has Liquidcool technology that is touted to offer 300 percent faster heat compared to smartphones without liquid cooling technology. It also carries a beefy 4,500 mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging solution. In addition, instead of coming with a standard charger, there will be a 27W fast charger included in the box. The fast charger is claimed to fully charge the phone’s 4,500mAh battery in just 68 minutes.
On the front, as we have previously reported, the POCO X2 will sport a RealityFlow 120Hz 6.7-inch display with FHD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio and the Intelligent dynamic refresh rate feature to help the phone last longer. It is P2i Splash-proof technology for water resistance.
For photography, it gets a quad-camera setup at the back, consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a dual selfie camera cluster housed in a pill-shaped punch-hole on the front, including a 20MP wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. Other features include VoWiFi for better indoor connectivity, side-mounted fingerprint reader, Android 10-based MIUI 11, and a headphone jack.
