If in 2018, POCO only launched one smartphone device, then this year, the brand seems to have decided to change strategy and launch a series of different devices in the mid-range and high-end segment.
Now, POCO continues the streak with the POCO M3, the successor to the POCO M2 that was also released not long ago. The handset has a completely new design that many people may think of the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk just introduced earlier this month, especially the main camera cluster on the back.
POCO M3: Price & Availability
The POCO M3 price is $129 (around Rs. 9,500) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option and $149 (around Rs. 11,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option.
The handset will be available on November 27th through Xiaomi’s official website and on other e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, AliExpress, ... Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow are three color options of this new POCO phone.
POCO M3: Specifications & Features
The back of the phone is completely redesigned with the main camera cluster expanded to house the "POCO" logo in the right corner, instead of the traditional logo in the bottom middle. This design is relatively new in the cheap smartphone segment, so it makes the POCO M3 stand out when compared to other products in the same price range.
On the front, the M3 is equipped with a 6.53-inch "water-drop" screen, using an IPS LCD panel, Full HD + resolution, and protected by Gorilla Glass 3. This screen is ÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified, meaning you can watch hours of content with minimal eye strain.
In terms of performance, the device comes with Snapdragon 662 chip, 4GB RAM, and 64GB memory (UFS 2.1) or 128GB (UFS 2.2). The battery of the device has a capacity of up to 6,000mAh and charges pretty quickly at 18Wg. Despite being equipped with a huge battery, the device is still relatively light, only weighs 198 grams with a thickness of 9.6mm. It runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 for POCO to take care of the software side of things.
Moving to the camera department, the camera cluster of POCO M3 includes: 48MP f / 1.79 main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP portrait camera. The selfie camera on the front has 8MP f / 2.0 resolution.
