Xiaomi introduced its sub-brand Pocophone back in 2018 and only added one offering in the series called Poco F1. Since then, the brand has been silent about it, making fans wonder whether the Poco F2 would ever come out. But it seems like the Chinese company is planning to revive the Pocophone brand as it has filed for a trademark application for the name with CTO (China Trademark Office). The trademark with identification number 428005 was spotted by a Twitter user @the_tech_guy. From the trademark, it appears that Xiaomi will likely introduce a new smartphone under the Poco brand in the near future. However, we are not sure about the exact Poco F2 release date.
That being said, the trademark doesn’t give any other information regarding this Poco F2 such as availability, price, specs, or anything. For now, Xiaomi has been very secretive about the handset as there haven’t been any leak about the handset. The Poco F1 was a massive success as it is very well-known not only in India but also in many other markets. The main reason for the success is its competitive price for flagship-level specs and features. This news seems reliable since POCO global head teased the release of the phone to take place in 2020.
Interestingly, its predecessor Poco F1 was seen in a trademark filed two months ahead of its launch in India. Following that timeline, the Poco F2 release date in India might be in the first half of this year considering the filing date of the trademark is 4 December 2018.
