On the first week of June, Oppo gave the public a glimpse of a smartphone with an under-display selfie camera on Twitter.
Just recently, Oppo continues to use Twitter to remind us that the prototype of this technology is ready and soon released. In the tweet, the Chinese brand did not announce much beyond a video and a plan to launch a prototype under-display selfie camera smartphone at MWC Shanghai on June 26.
The short 15-second video shows the screen of this upcoming smartphone taking up the entire front of the machine. Oppo has brought a lot of improvements in their products over the years. We have seen the selfies camera being house housed in a thin bezel, a notch, or a slider. Now, we see an new smartphone with a full-screen display and camera hidden behind the screen.
The camera under the screen will work when you turn on the camera selfie. Around the lens, it has a small circle to tell you where you need to look. If you don't use the selfie camera, the screen will go back to normal.
Currently, Oppo has not yet announced the specifications, details, and quality of the selfie camera. However, it did suggest that users shouldn't expect to much on the quality of this new selfie camera design. Perhaps this information will be published in the upcoming event in Shanghai.
