Oppo Reno With 48MP Rear Camera, Snapdragon 710 SoC Certified On IMDA & Bluetooth SIG

The first phone under the new Oppo sub-brand Reno has just certified on IMDA & Bluetooth SIG, packing Snapdragon 710 SoC and a 48MP rear camera.

Oppo has just announced Reno which is a new sub-brand of the company in the Chinese market. The first phone to launch under this brand has now spotted getting certified by Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) and Singapore’s IMDA agency. While the certification by SIG shows several key specs of this forthcoming Reno handset, the certification by IMDA hints that this device will not only launch in the Chinese market only.

‘CPH1917’ is the model number of this new Reno phone which was just certified by IMDA agency and Bluetooth SIG. It was confirmed on the certification that the handset will indeed is the first on the new ‘Reno’ brand. However, the exact name of this smartphone remains unknown for now. Additionally, the Bluetooth certification also suggests that the Reno device will pack a Snapdragon 710 SoC built on the 10nm processor. It will sport a 6.4-inch HD+ display on the front as well.

In terms of camera, the first phone from Oppo’s new sub-brand will come with a dual camera setup on the rear, including 48MP and 5MP sensors. Up front, there will be a 16MP camera for taking selfies and video calling. As for the software, the phone will run Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0. To recall, Oppo already confirmed that the first Reno smartphone will launch in the Chinese market on 10 April. This new phone and the new brand overall will most likely target the youngster segment similar to the previous Oppo’s sub-brand Realme which launched last year.

There should be more details and leaks coming out later in this month on Chinese microblogging Weibo.
Aside from the Reno phone, the IMDA agency has also just certified another Oppo phone under the name Oppo AX5s (model number CPH1920). As suggested by the name, the Oppo AX5s is most likely the successor to the budget Oppo AX5 released in 2018.
