OPPO Reno 2 lineup already arrived in the Indian market in August and recently, the brand has debut this series in China. Also, at a similar event, OPPO teased the launch of OPPO Reno Ace phone. However, there has been no information about the specs and release date of the phone so far. The brand only announced that it planned to unveil the phone in its home market next month. According to Vice President of OPPO, the handset is likely to be a high-end offering with a 90Hz screen and SuperVOOC quick charging support.
Separately, the brand also confirmed its partnership with Qualcomm chip maker for new Snapdragon 700 lineup SoC with 5G modem support. OPPO revealed the development already entered an advantaged stage, however, it did not give any hint of the launch timeline or exact smartphone model. It remains unknown if the Ace phone could become the first handset to be powered by the Snapdragon 700 lineup chipset. As the launch of OPPO Ace is still one month away, we could expect that OPPO would tease more about the features of the phone in the near future. In addition to OPPO, another brand - Realme, which used to be its subsidiary, announced that it plans to introduce a device powered by new Snapdragon 700-lineup SOC and having 5G support as well.
Regarding the Reno 2, the device sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a screen-to-body-ratio of 20:9. It features an on-screen fingerprint sensor 3.0 for biometric security and a Corilla Gorilla Glass 6 protective layer. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 730G SoC, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. In terms of software, the phone runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. In addition, the handset also features Frame Boost 2.0, Engine Boost 2.0, Touch Boost 2.0+, and Hyper Boost 2.0. The phone is packed with a big 4,000 mAh cell with the support for VOOC 3.0 quick charging tech.
