Around two months after releasing the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro, OPPO now adds one more model in the series dubbed OPPO Reno 3 Vitality Edition. It has nearly identical specifications to the Reno 3 5G, but the brand swaps the Mediatek MT6885Z Dimensity 1000L for Snapdragon 765 SoC. In addition, the 64MP is also downgraded to a 48MP unit (at least on paper).
OPPO Reno 3 Vitality Edition: Price & Availability
OPPO is offering the handset at a price of CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 30,600). You can get a free pair of O-Fresh earbuds and an additional 6 months of warranty, if you pre-order the phone. The pre-order page also confirms that the OPPO Reno 3 Vitality Edition will officially launch on 14 February.
The handset comes in three new color variants - Sky Mirror White, Moon Night Black, and Streamer Gold.
Reno3 Vitality Edition: Specifications & Features
Design-wise, the OPPO Reno 3 Vitality Edition has a similar look to the Reno 3 5G. It features a flat screen and a curved glass back. The display is a Super AMOLED panel that has 6.4 inches in size and supports FHD+ display. It also has a water-drop notch just like its siblings and an aspect ratio of 20:9. There is a third-gen under-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
As mentioned, it is driven by a Snapdragon 765 SoC (not Snapdragon 765G), aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. On paper, the chipset is slightly more powerful than the Mediatek MT6885Z Dimensity 1000L on the Reno 3 5G and a bit behind the Snapdragon 765G on the Reno 3 Pro.
For optics, it also gets a quad-camera cluster on the rear. The main sensor is replaced by a 48MP unit while the other three sensors are the same. They are a 2MP black / white camera, 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is also a 32MP camera for selfies.
In terms of software, it is pre-loaded with Android 10-based ColorOS 7 along with several features like Hyper Boost for GPU performance boost, improving touch response, reducing lag during gaming sessions, OPPO Cloud Service, OPPO Wallet, and Link Boost 2.0 to combine Wi-Fi and 5G networks together. Finally, it gets the same 4,025 mAh battery, 30W fast charging standard, headphone jack, and NFC.
