On 26 December, Oppo is expected to announce two new smartphones under the Reno brand called Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno 3 Pro. As the launch date is getting closer, new details about the two smartphones are pouring online. Just now, we have seen live photos of the Reno 3, which not only gives us key specs, but also show its full design in full glory. The upcoming Reno 3 will feature a water-drop notch at the top to accommodate a selfie camera and a relatively thick chin at the bottom of the front panel. According to the AIDA64 listing, the phone will be driven by a MediaTek MT6885 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, there could be a few more variants when it’s launched.
In addition, previous leaks tipped that the Oppo Reno 3 will boast a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,400p resolution and an under-display fingerprint reader for security. It is suggested that Oppo Reno will still retain the headphone jack on the device. Camera-wise, it should carry a quad-camera lens setup at the back, one of which could be a 64MP sensor. The rest of the setup will likely be a 2MP dedicated macro camera, a 2MP depth-sensing camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera is expected to be available on the front for selfies and video calls. Finally, it might pack a beefy 4,500 mAh battery with 30W quick charging tech, but this isn’t confirmed yet.
Separately, its sibling Reno 3 Pro will come with a punch-hole display. On top of the screen, there is a cut-out to house a selfie camera. Powering the phone will be the new Snapdragon 765G chipset along with a 4,025 mAh battery and 30W fast charging solution. Both Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro will be the brand’s first smartphones to support dual-mode 5G networks (SA and NSA).
