Oppo is going to announce Oppo Reno 3 5G & Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G in China on 26 December. The news is confirmed by an invite posted on Weibo. Recently, a teaser video revealed the back design of the Reno 3 Pro 5G, which features curved edges, metal frame, and an interesting gradient finish. The vanilla Reno 3 5G will come with a dewdrop-notched display with a slightly thicker chin at the bottom. Meanwhile, its sibling Reno 3 Pro 5G is packed with a punch-hole display. Both phones will sport a quad rear camera setup stacked vertically and come pre-loaded with Oppo’s ColorOS 7 at launch.
Oppo Reno 3 5G & Reno 3 Pro 5G: Expected specifications
As per recent leaks, the Reno 3 Pro 5G might rock a 6.5” curved OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display should support at least Full-HD+ resolution. Under the hood, it could be driven by the recently-announced Snapdragon 765G chipset, which has already been featured on the Redmi K30. As you can tell by the name, it should support the 5G connectivity. Camera-wise, there should be four cameras at its back panel, one of which is likely a 48MP sensor. The other three are tipped to be a 2MP macro or depth sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto unit. Fueling the phone will reportedly be a 4,025 mAh battery cell with support for 30W quick charging technology. For security, we expect to see an under-display fingerprint reader.
Moving to the vanilla Reno 3, it could pack the same display as the Reno 3 Pro 5G and an in-display fingerprint reader for biometric security. On the rear, it could also rock a quad-camera cluster with a 60MP main sensor. For selfies, there could be a 32MP selfie shooter housed in the notch on the front. Other details include a 4,500mAh battery with the same 30W fast charging technology and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
