Oppo K5 Goes Official With Snapdragon 730G & Up 64MP Quad Cameras

The Oppo K5 is a new mid-range offering from the Chinese phone maker with Snapdragon 730G and 64MP quad rear camera setup as its highlights.

The Oppo K5 is a new mid-range offering that Oppo announced in China along with the flagship Oppo Reno Ace. The handset arrives as the direct successor to the Oppo K3 that launched earlier this year. The Oppo Reno Ace is packed with top-end specs like Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, up to 12GB RAM, and 90Hz display. Meanwhile, the Oppo K5 features a mid-range Snapdragon 730G chipset, 30W super VOOC quick charging tech, and a quad-camera setup that includes a 64MP main sensor.

Oppo K5: Price

The Oppo K5 is retailed at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 19,000) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The price goes up to CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 21,000) for the 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage model and CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 25,000) for the top-end 8GB of RAM / 256GB storage option. It is up for grabs in three colors - White, Blue, and Green from 17 October in China.

The Oppo K5 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a dewdrop notch atop for the selfie camera. Under the hood, it is driven by a Snapdragon 730G SoC, aided by GameBoost 2.0 to further boost its performance. As mentioned, the phone is available in three memory configurations with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which can be further expanded with a microSD card.

For photography, the Oppo K5 boasts a quad rear camera cluster, which includes a 64MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The other three cameras are an 8MP wide-angle shooter with 119-degree FOV, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, users can use the 32MP camera on the front. Unlike the Oppo Reno Ace, the Oppo K5 supports 30W fast charging solution to charge its beefy 4,000 mAh battery. Finally, it ships with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with ColorOS 6.0 on top.
