OPPO K3 Unveiled: Pop-Up Camera, In-Display Fingerprint Reader, Snapdragon 710 SoC

Oppo K3 is officially unveiled in China with a pop-up selfie camera, Snapdragon 710 SoC, and an in-display fingerprint sensor which is rare for its price.

Today, Oppo finally ends all the leaks and rumors by launching the Oppo K3 in its home market China. The Oppo K3 and Oppo Reno share quite a lot of similarities in their designs. With a pop-up selfie camera, the handset also sports an all-screen display and launches as the successor to the Oppo K1 that was unveiled last year.
Oppo K3: Price & Availability
The base option of the Oppo K3 with 6GB RAM +64GB of storage is priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 16,200). The two higher variants with 8GB of RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage are priced at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 19,200) and CNY 2,299 (around Rs. 23,200), respectively. There are three available color variants of the Oppo K3 which are Secret Black, Morning White, and Nebula Purple.
It will be available for sale in the Chinese market from today through Oppo’s online store and other e-commerce websites. The price and availability of the handset for the Indian market remain unknown for now.
OPPO K3: Specifications & Features
Thanks to the pop-up camera design, the handset sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED full-screen display with 1,080 x 2,340p resolution. Despite having very thin bezels on the sides, the device has a rather thick chin at the bottom. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage. For software, the phone ships with the company’s ColorOS v6.0 based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and Oppo’s Breeno assistant. For security, it features an on-screen fingerprint scanner which is quite rare for its price range.
In terms of camera, the device sports a dual camera setup stacked vertically on the rear, including a 16MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, there is a 16MP pop-up selfie camera supported by screen flash feature.
Other features include Frame Boost, Touch Boost, and GameBoost 2.0 for a better gaming experience. Lastly, powering the phone is a 3,765 mAh battery that can be quickly refilled with Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.
