Oppo K1 Launched In India With 25MP AI Selfie Camera, In-display Fingerprint Scanner

Oppo just launched the Oppo K1 in the Indian market with 25MP AI selfie camera and it is the cheapest phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Earlier today, the Chinese phone maker Oppo announced a new addition to its mid-range phone portfolio in the Indian market. The handset is launched under the name of Oppo K1, and it is a part of an entirely new series from Oppo, Oppo K series. The company already launched the handset a couple of months ago in the Chinese market, In India, the phone maker already teased the imminent launch on a landing page on the e-commerce site Flipkart, and of course, it is offered exclusively via Flipkart.

Oppo K1: Price, Variants & Launch offers

Oppo will only offer the Oppo K1 in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64Gb of storage in the Indian market for Rs. 16,990. It will come in two colour models, including Astral Blue and Piano Black. The handset is up for sale on e-commerce site Flipkart from 12 February, which is today, along with some launch offers. Those offers include no-cost EMI for 3 or 6-month term. Buyers with Citibank card will also get a 10 percent discount on the phone’s price on the release day. Oppo also offers a buyback guarantee program for Rs. 1 only.

Oppo K1: Specifications & Features

The Oppo K1 is a new mid-range phone from the Chinese giant phone maker. It sports a large 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a water-drop notched, a 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution, and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The main highlight of this phone is that it is the cheapest phone in the Indian market that comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The phone comes packed with a Snapdragon 660 processor which is one of the most powerful SoC in the mid-range segment, and it is coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU. In the Indian market, it will come in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot. In terms of battery, the phone is backed by a 3,600mAh battery, and it will have support for 4G VoLTE networks in the country and dual SIM slots as well.

In the camera department, the device sports a dual rear camera setup, including a 16MP main sensor, and a 2MP secondary sensor for depth sensing. On the front, there will be a 25MP camera for taking selfies as well as video calls. With the AI capabilities of the Snapdragon 660 processor, the Oppo K1’s camera app is packed with some AI-backed features. The front camera is also used for the facial recognition feature.

In terms of software, the Oppo K1 will run the Oppo’s ColorOS 5.2 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It will most likely get an update to Android 9.0 Pie and ColorOS 6 in the recent future.
