It was only one day after we talked about the possibility of the phone maker Oppo releasing a new smartphone in the mid-range segment in the Indian market. The phone, which was the Oppo K1, already launched in China in September last year. And now, we believe that this new Oppo phone that Oppo has just teased on e-store Flipkart is the Oppo K1. Additionally, according to 91 Mobiles’ report, the Chinese phone maker will reportedly unveil its Oppo K1 in early February exclusively on Flipkart.
If the Oppo K1 launches in the Indian market, it will be the first phone on the Oppo K lineup to come in the country. The phone maker has now only focused on the F series, A series, and R series in the Indian market. As mentioned, Oppo already launched the phone in October last year, and it was advertised to be an affordable phone with an on-screen fingerprint sensor at the time of its China release. The upcoming Oppo phone will most likely cost around Rs. 20,000 which would surely make it the most affordable device with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Oppo K1: Specs & features
The Oppo K1 sports a big 6.4-inch IPS LCD display, but some rumors suggest that the phone will sport an AMOLED display instead. It will be very impressive if the Chinese phone maker manages to pack an AMOLED panel on a sub-Rs. 20,000 price range. The handset's display will have a 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU. In the Chinese market, Oppo offers the Oppo K1 in two variants, including 4GB of RAM/64GB storage model and 6GB of RAM/64GB of storage option and both variants don’t come with an expandable storage option. For now, the official variants for the Indian market remains unknown.
In the software department, it should run Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2. The handset is backed by a 3,600mAh battery that can easily power the phone for one day.
In terms of camera, the Oppo K1 sports a dual rear camera setup, including a 16MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 25MP selfie camera and the phone’s camera will be backed with some AI modes.
Even though some people may be happy that Oppo decides to keep the headphone jack on the Oppo K1, it still comes with a micro USB port instead of a USB-C port.
As we already mentioned, the Oppo K1 will most likely to officially launch in India in early February.
