After many leaks and rumors, Oppo finally announced the Oppo A9 in the Chinese market. This latest addition to the Oppo A series is a successor to the last year’s Oppo A7. The handset packs a 6.53-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and is powered by an MTK Helio P70 chipset.
OPPO A9: Price
The new Oppo phone is offered for CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 18,700) in three colour variants which are Green, Purple, and White. Consumers in China can now pre-order the phone while the sale date of the Oppo A9 is confirmed to start from 30 April.
OPPO A9: Specs & Features
As mentioned, the phone comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a high 90.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. For now, the company hasn't revealed the resolution of its display yet. Powering the phone is likely to be an MTK Helio P70 chipset built on the 12nm process. The processor is backed by 6GB RAM/128GB of storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
As for software, it ships with Android 9 Pie with Oppo’s Color 6.0 on top. To offer users better gaming experience, the company equips it with the Game Boost 2.0 mode that is claimed to boost its gaming performance.
Moving to the camera department, Oppo A9 users can take photos using a dual camera setup. However, instead of having a 48MP primary sensor as previously rumored, the setup includes a 16MP main camera with a dual-tone LED flash and a secondary 2MP depth sensor for taking portrait photos. Up front, it has a 16MP camera for selfie duties. Its cameras are supported by some features like HDR, AI scene detection, AI portraits, and Night Scape 2.0 to improve its photography under low-light conditions.
A fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear can be used for unlocking the phone. There is a 4,020mAh cell with AI power management and VOOC 3.0 fast charging solution under the hood for powering the phone. Other features include Wi-FI, 4G, Bluetooth, a micro-USB port, and GPS.
