According to the images, the upcoming handset will sport an all-screen display with a tiny dewdrop notch on the top. This notch houses a selfie camera sensor with an earpiece above it. The phone back looks identical to the latest Reno lineup phones with “OPPO” and “Designed by OPPO” vertically etched in the center. The back also has vertically-placed dual cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and an LED flash. In addition, the images also show that the A9 smartphone will be available in 3 color variants in China including Fluorite Purple, Ice Jade White, and Mica Green.

Regarding the specs, the A9 smartphone is backed with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. In terms of imaging capabilities, the phone has a dual rear camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. Powering the device is a battery with a capacity of 4,020mAh. Additionally, it is expected to run ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie. These specs make the A9 appear to be just a variant of the OPPO F11 Pro. This probably means that the device may debut in the Chinese market with a 6.53-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. On the front, the device features a 16MP camera for video calling and taking selfies.

The upcoming OPPO A9 smartphone has been reported to debut in the company's home market on 30 April with the price tag of CNY1,699 (roughly Rs.17,600).
