OPPO seems to be very active in the recent time as the Chinese giant has released multiple smartphones this week, most of which are in the mid-range segment. A few days ago, the brand announced the OPPO A52 with a Snapdragon 665 SoC & quad rear cameras. Now, it releases an upgraded model of the phone called OPPO A72. It appears that OPPO is trying to use these two smartphones to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, two of which were launched at the end of last year. Recently, the brand also unveiled OPPO Find X2 Lite, OPPO A12, and OPPO A92s.
OPPO A72: Price & Availability
The handset will go on sales in Europe soon along with the OPPO A52. The OPPO A72 is yet to be disclosed, but with the A52 retail price being CNY 1,600 (around Rs. 17,000), the device is expected to have a slightly higher price than that.
OPPO A72: Specifications & Features
As a slightly upgraded model of the OPPO A52, both smartphones have a few of similarities in terms of hardware specifications, including a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel and a Snapdragon 665 chipset. The difference will come from the memory configuration and camera set. Specifically, OPPO A72 will also have 4GB of RAM but will have 128GB of storage, which is more than double that of OPPO A52. It also supports users to expand storage via a microSD card slot.
Regarding the camera, OPPO A72 is equipped with a cluster of quad main cameras with the "C" design similar to the A52, including a 48MP wide-angle main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP portrait. It also has a 16MP camera on the front for selfies.
The handset also has a fingerprint sensor mounted on the side and has a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. It has a large battery capacity of 5, 000mAh and supports 18W fast charging. Finally, it has Android 10 pre-loaded with Color OS 7.1 interface to take care of the software side of things.
