Oppo A31 / Oppo Reno S Bagged Bluetooth SIG Certification; Launch Seems Imminent

A new Oppo smartphone was certified by the NBTC agency with model number CPH20155 and it recently passed through the IMDA database with its marketing name, Oppo A31. However, its certification in the Indonesian agency TKDN suggested that the handset could be called Reno S. Now, it has been certified by Bluetooth SIG, hinting that its launch might be imminent.

According to the listing, the Oppo A31 / Reno S will flaunt a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution. Powering the phone will be a MediaTek octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. Even though the name of the chipset is still under wraps, we speculate that it could be either the Helio P60 or Helio P70 SoC. In addition, the certification shows that the device will support dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, and LTE.

The Oppo A31 2020 was also tipped to come with a 4,230 mAh battery, but the source didn’t mention whether it will support fast charging technology or not. Software-wise, it should come with Android 9 Pie pre-installed with the company’s ColorOS on top. Moreover, its FCC certification suggested that its display will feature a water-drop notch at the top to house a selfie camera. Speaker grill, headphone jack, and USB-C port are also three things suggested by a previous leak. On the left side, there will be a volume rocker while the right edge will house a  power button. In addition, a new leaked render of the phone showed a triple camera setup at its back along with a fingerprint sensor. 

These are all the details we have managed to gather about this phone. There hasn’t been any leak about its launch date and price. However, since the phone has passed through multiple agencies, we believe that the Oppo A31 / Reno S should be coming very soon.
