Recently, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed plans to launch OnePlus cheap smartphones because this is still a segment with a substantial amount of customers. This information has partly confirmed the existence of OnePlus Z, which is much cheaper than the flagship OnePlus models released every year. OnePlus Z will be the successor to the OnePlus X that was launched earlier in 2015.

Recently, a mysterious device called OnePlus Z has appeared on the Geekbench benchmark platform, confirming that the device will be equipped with Snapdragon 765G chip. Some other sources also revealed hardware configuration details as well as said the launch of this phone will take place in July.
Detailed OnePlus Z specs:
- Display: 6.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with a single punch-hole selfie camera
- Chipset: Snapdragon 765G
- RAM: 8GB / 12GB
- Storage: 128GB / 256GB
- Rear camera: 48MP (main) + 12MP (ultra-wide) + 13MP (telephoto)
- Selfie camera: 16MP
- Battery: 4,000 mAh (30W fast charging)
- Operating Software: Android 10-based OxygenOS 10
- Color variants: Black, Blue, White, and a limited edition.
Of course, the above details are only rumors and OnePlus has not confirmed any of those. The price of OnePlus Z is also said to be cheaper than OnePlus 8, from $200 to 250 USD (around Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 19,000).
At the moment, although OnePlus is one of the two smartphone brands with the most loyal fans (in the Indian market alone), with the price of OnePlus flagship currently reaching the threshold of $1,000 (around Rs. 75,000), OnePlus is unlikely to be able to capture the market share of smartphone users, even in developed markets. Because at the price of $1,000, users will often tend to choose big brands like Apple or Samsung. The launch of a more affordable lineup would be a good move if OnePlus doesn’t want to be left behind.
