The OnePlus 8 series will likely go official in both Indian and global markets sometime next month. The upcoming series will come with a new change in the number of smartphones. Instead of just two, OnePlus will reportedly introduce one more model in the lineup called OnePlus 8 Lite. That means there will be three OnePlus 8 smartphones launched, including OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Lite. Now, several details about the handset have just surfaced online thanks to tipster Ishan Agarwal. According to his tip, the device will come with a punch-hole display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek chipset.
OnePlus 8 Lite: Price in India & Availability
According to tipster Agarwal, the OnePlus 8 Lite price will be around 38,700 in the UK. You might find it too expensive compared to the Rs. 34,999 price of the OnePlus 7T in India. However, the price tag of the OnePlus 7T in the UK is around Rs. 51,000, so the OnePlus 8 Lite should have a much lower price when coming to India. As for its launch date, the tipster suggests that the device could make its debut in India and the global market by July.
OnePlus 8 Lite: Specifications
Previously, OnePlus 8 Lite renders already revealed that the handset would feature a center-aligned punch-hole display. In addition, the Lite model will reportedly sport a 90Hz 6.4-inch AMOLED panel while the vanilla OnePlus 8 & the more premium OnePlus 8 Pro were tipped to carry a 120Hz display. Finally, the Lite model could be powered by a MediaTek chipset, which is rumored to be the Dimensity 1000 SoC.
In terms of software, it should boot Android 10 out of the box and get an under-display fingerprint reader for security. Camera-wise, it will likely be equipped with a triple camera setup, including a 48MP main sensor, alongside 16MP + 12MP sensors. Fueling the device could be a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 30W Warp fast-charging standard. Finally, it is said to be going to come in two memory configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
