While most major brands are combining smartphones with tablets, ZTE chose the phone-watch combination. Announced at MWC 2019, the Nubia Alpha gives the feeling of a watch with a phone built in rather than a regular flexible phone.
Previously the company unveiled a prototype for this device, but that one did not work. This time, it does. A Cnet reporter had the chance to experience the phone at the world largest mobile show.

The Nubia Alpha is equipped with a flexible OLED display which is 4.01 inches large. To scroll through apps on the screen, users can swipe back and forth, and up and down. The display.

Press the crown at the bottom to move back from a menu.

The phone also comes with support for gesture recognition and it works pretty well.

The Nubia Alpha is locked with a clasp and it seems not too heavy on the wrist. Additionally, the handset is water-resistant.

There are four main menus on the phone with different colors. The blue menus include settings sections, the purple one showcases utility options, while the orange one consists of various health monitoring apps.

The Nubia Alpha is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip.

The company offers another version packing an eSIM that supports the 4G. Users can make calls by dialing numbers on its keyboard.
However, texting can be frustrating as the phone’s keyboard is the nine-digit type. So, it could be better if the device enables voice dictation.

The phone features a 5MP selfie camera lying on the right of the phone’s screen. To nap a shot, tap on the camera screen, to capture a video, press and hold. To view photos on the phone, users scroll through the gallery in a loop across the display.

The phone also offers a music player, and it has 16GB of RAM.
