Earlier this year, Nubia launched the Red Magic 5G - its first 5G gaming smartphone in China. The device possesses powerful hardware from Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 865 Plus processor and 144Hz refresh rate screen.

With the desire to bring users a smooth gaming experience at an affordable price, Nubia today has released a new gaming smartphone in China, which is the successor to the successful Red Magic 5G and is called Nubia Red Magic 5S.
Nubia Red Magic 5S: Price & Availability
Nubia Red Magic 5S is now available for sales in China in two color options: Neon Red and Silver. Below are the versions and their respective prices:

- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 3,799 (around 40,900).
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 4,399 (around Rs. 47,300)
- 16GB RAM + 256GB stoage: CNY 4,999 (around Rs. 53,800)
Nubia Red Magic 5S: Specifications & Features
The Red Magic 5S is equipped with a 6.65-inch AMOLED display, with support for Full HD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen of the device has a 144Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics security.
Moving to the back, the Red Magic 5S carries a vertically arranged and centrally located triple-camera system, including a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and 2MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, the front of the device features a traditional design with a slightly thick bezel at the top, where an 8MP camera is placed for taking selfies, as well as video calling.

The phone possesses the hardware power from Qualcomm's most advanced processor, Snapdragon 865+, combined with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory. 4,500mAh is the capacity of the Red Magic 5S’ battery, which supports fast 55W wired charging via USB Type-C port. Being a gaming smartphone, the device is integrated with a cooling system with many improvements, including a silver-plated heatsink called ICE Ag and a cooling fan with a maximum speed of up to 15,000 rpm.
One of the other worthwhile upgrades is GPU Boost, which, according to Nubia, will allow the Red Magic 5S to handle games smoothly, without any lag during the game sessions. However, to use GPU Boost, users need to buy a new cooling fan called Ice Wind Cool Box, which increases cooling efficiency by up to 56%.
Like the previous generation, the Red Magic 5S also has two touch keys on the side for assigning in-game functions. In addition, it also comes with a new multitasking feature, support for wireless projection with low latency, DTS X Ultra audio technology, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
