After getting certification from the Chinese certification agency TENAA early this week, the first photos of the Nubia Red Magic 5G have been uploaded to its TENAA listing. The handset is listed with the model number NX659J with a dual-coloured frame with the right side having a red finish and the left side featuring a blue coat.
The back of the phone has a metal casing with grilles at the top and bottom for heat dissipation. At the back of the phone, there is a long glossy strip. At the top, there is a triple camera setup while the Red Magic branding and logo are placed in the middle and on the bottom, respectively.
Moving to the sides, you will also see air-vent on the right spine along with what looks like a capacitive shoulder button. On the left spine, there is another air vent alongside a volume rocker and alert slider.
Moving to the handset’ specifications, the TEAA listing reveals that the device will have a 6.65-inch screen and a large 4,400 mAh battery. It should be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 chipset, aided by up to whopping 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The Nubia Red Magic 5G is tipped to feature an “air-cooled fast charging solution” that is touted to prevent the smartphone from getting too hot while charging as well as maintain the longevity of its battery. In addition, the charging standard might top out at 55W.
Being a flagship and gaming-centric smartphone, the device has been reported to be the first smartphone with a 144Hz display. In terms of camera, we are not sure how many sensors the phone will get, but we expect to see a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor. The handset was initially planned to make its debut at the MWC 2020 event, but since the event was canceled, it will likely be introduced in China in the near future.
