Nubia’s co-founder and President Ni Fei shared several posters on his Weibo page. In the poster, he touted that the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 5G will be the world’s first 144Hz 5G gaming phone. Given that there hasn’t been any news about other smartphones expected to come with a 144Hz display, this claim is likely to be true. He also teases that the phone will make its debut at the upcoming MWC 2020 event, which will take place from 24 February to 27 February.

One of the posters also reveals the rear panel of the phone with a triple camera lens setup stacked vertically in the middle. In the same line, there are the brand’s logo and Red Magic moniker.
The Nubia Red Magic 5G will pack the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset, aided by up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. You can see on the photo that the device is also said to support dual-mode 5G connectivity. In terms of camera, the triple camera setup will likely include a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor while details of the other two are unknown.

Being a gaming-centric smartphone, it is touted to feature an "air-cooled fast charging solution" that can help the phone maintain its temperature while charging and maintain the longevity of its battery. The handset was previously rumored to support the 80W fast charging standard, but we believe that the number will be dropped to 55W.
It is around two weeks until the MWC 2020 event takes place in Barcelona, Spain. The other half of February is expected to be filled with mobile news. We have already got confirmation from Samsung to release its Samsung Galaxy S20 series & Galaxy Z Flip on 11 February. Xiaomi has also just shared an official invite, revealing that its Xiaomi Mi 10 series will be introduced on 13 February at an online-only event.
