After Qualcomm announcing the Snapdragon 855+, there have already been a few Chinese phone makers hinted at the launch of new smartphones that come with the new chipset. One of such brands is Nubia, which just confirmed that it will launch a special edition of the Nubia Red Magic 3 with the Snapdragon 855+.

The Nubia’s Weibo account says that the handset is coming soon with a poster showing the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The poster also includes the name of the latest gaming smartphone from the brand, Nubia Red Magic 3.
The brand doesn’t mention whether it will replace the current Snapdragon 855-powered model with the new one or it will still retain the old model and offer the new model at the same time. If the latter is true, you should expect to pay more money to get the Snapdragon 855+ version for a boot in GPU and CPU performance. If you are planning to buy the Redmi Magic 3, you should hold your nerve and wait for the new version. However, if you already own one, don’t worry as the old Red Magic 3 is still a great gaming phone and you are not going to be missing much.

To recall, the Redmi Magic 3 launched as the world’s first phone to come with a built-in cooling fan. On the front, it sports a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is also equipped with a 16MP camera for selfies and video chats. At the back, it features a single 48MP camera with f/1.7 aperture. Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with 6/8/12GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage. Other notable highlights include DTS X Ultra audio, a headphone jack, a 5,000 mAh battery with 27W fast charging support, and touch-sensitive buttons on the rear.
Other phone makers that have teased their own Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered smartphones are Lenovo, Xiaomi, iQOO, and Redmi.
