Nokia 7.1 Released In India At Rs. 19,999, Available From December 7

HMD just released its Nokia 7.1 in India with the price of Rs. 19,999, available from December 7 for the variant with 4GB of RAM/64GB of storage.

The latest phone from HMD Global, Nokia 7.1, has just launched in the Indian market. First introduced at an October’s tech event in London, the phone’s key highlights are the PureDisplay panel and HDR10 password. Other highlights of this phone include a 3,060 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and also a dual rear camera setup with Zeiss optics. In a press release, the Finish phone maker just revealed the price of its Nokia 7.1 in the Indian market along with its launch date and launch offers.

Price of Nokia 7.1 in India

The Nokia 7.1 is priced at Rs. 19,999 for the variant with 4GB of RAM/64GB of internal storage and it will be available for sale from 7 December. HMD stated that customers can buy the Nokia 7.1 in top retailers in the country, apart from the online store of the company. The variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, which was released in London, hasn’t been brought to the Indian market yet, and HMD Global has not revealed when this variant will come to the country.

For the launch offers, HMD has already partnered with Indian’s largest telecom services provider, Airtel, to offer 1TB of 4GB data for prepaid subscribers on eligible plans with a starting cost of Rs. 199. In addition, postpaid Airtel subscribers can also get a 3-month subscription of Netflix, 1-year subscription of Amazon Prime, and 120GB of data on postpaid plans that costs Rs. 499 or higher. Customers are also able to claim for 10% cashback via eligible physical stores if they buy the phone using debit and credit cards of HDFC, except for EMI transactions.

Specifications of Nokia 7.1

The Nokia phone will run Android 8 Oreo that is based on the Android One program, with Android 9.0 Pie update arriving OTA for India owners. It will come with a 5.84-inch FullHD+ PureDisplay screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and HDR10 support. Snapdragon 636 SoC will be the one powering this handset along with 4GB RAM.

For the camera aspect, the Nokia handset has a dual camera setup on the rear with 12MP autofocus f1.8 primary sensor and a 5MP secondary fixed focus f2.4 sensor. HDM Global is also touting the two-phase detection and Zeiss optics for the Nokia 7.1’s rear camera setup, apart from EIS. For the front camera setup, the phone has an 8MP sensor with fixed focus and f2.0 aperture and 84-degree field-of-view.

In terms of memory, it has 64GB of internal storage and there is an option of expanding the storage via microSD slot (400GB maximum).

The company uses 6000 series aluminum CNC machined frame to build the phone along with a die-cast metal center. In terms of dimensions, it weighs 159 grams and its dimensions are 149.7x71.19x7.99mm. There is a 3,060 mAh battery and support for 18W fast charging, that can charge 50 percent of battery in around 30 minutes.

HDM Global is touting the phone’s real-time SDR to HRD conversion that allows users to experience "HDR quality entertainment, even when the content is not."
