Motorola Edge and Motorole Edge+ were two high-end smartphones that Lenovo-owned Motorola has just unveiled at an online event last week. While the former is a mid-range smartphone with the Snapdragon 765G chipset, the latter is a flagship device with top-tier internals such as Snapdragon 865 chipset and 108MP triple rear cameras. Now, head of Motorola India, Prashanth Mani has confirmed that the phone is coming to India very soon.
The video in the tweet also shows a run-down of the efforts by the brand to develop the Motorola Edge+. Since India is still under lockdown due to the COVID-19 break until 3rd May, the release should be announced shortly after the lockdown is lifted and e-commerce sites are back to business. We are not sure whether the vanilla Motorola Edge will also be coming with the Plus model or not.
Motorola Edge+: Specifications & Features
The handset rocks a 6.7-inch OLED panel with FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340p) resolution, HDR10+, Gorilla Glass 5, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The device runs on Android 10 out of the box and features My UX app that allows users to customize the UX to their liking.
In terms of camera, the device is equipped with a triple-camera lens cluster that includes a whopping 108MP sensor, aided by an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera that doubles up as a macro camera. Upfront, users can take selfies with a 25MP camera housed inside the notch. The whole package is fueled by a beefy 5,000 mAh battery that can be refilled with a 15W TurboCharge charging technology over a USB-C port or wireless charger. Finally, the device has an under-display fingerprint reader, a headphone jack, stereo speakers, and splash-resistant coating.
