'Flagship-Killer' Motorola Edge S Goes Official: Snapdragon 870, 64MP Quad Cameras

Lenovo just launched its new affordable flagship smartphone, the Motorola Edge S, in the Chinese market. The handset is a 5G-supported smartphone with a starting price of just around Rs. 22,600. Its specifications include the new Snapdragon 870 chipset, a 64MP quad-camera lens setup, and a 6.7” 90Hz display.
Motorola Edge S: Price & Availability
The Motorola Edge S price starts at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 22,600) for the 6GB + 128GB model while its 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models are respectively retailed at CNY 2,399 (around Rs. 27,100) and CNY 2,799 (around Rs. 31,700).
For now, there is no information about the Motorola Edge S launch outside of China. Rumor has it that the phone will be renamed to Motorola G100 when heading to other markets.
Motorola Edge S: Specifications & Features
The Edge S is equipped with the newly-announced Snapdragon 870 processor. This is an overclocked version of last year's Snapdragon 865 Plus, supporting 5G network and Wi-Fi 6. The handset is available in three memory configurations, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB. On the front, it gets a 6.7-inch LCD screen, featuring Full-HD+ (1,080 × 2,520p) resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 21: 9 aspect ratio.
The rear camera setup consists of a 64MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a ToF sensor. They support 6K video recording and Audio Zoom, which allows users to get in closer to the source of the sound when recording. On the front, the smartphone features a punch-hole dual selfie camera, including a 16MP main camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 100-degree viewing angle.
The battery of the Edge S has a 5,000 mAh capacity, but only supports 20W fast charging. The smartphone also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Android 11 pre-installed.
