Motorola Edge+ Launch Date Confirmed; Motorola Edge Might Tag Along

The Motorola Edge+ will officially be announced on 22 April, possibly alongside its more affordable sibling, the Motorola Edge.

Motorola finally reveals the official release date of the Motorole Edge+. According to the company’s teaser video, the upcoming flagship will be announced on 22 April with a stunning design. It seems like previous leaks and renders were right about the handset packing a waterfall display with nearly 90-degree curves on the sides.

The vanilla Motorola Edge should also be unveiled at the event. It is also tipped to carry a waterfall display. However, instead of arriving in the flagship segment with a Snapdragon 865 SoC like the Edge+, the standard version will be a mid-range smartphone with the mid-range Snapdragon 765G chipset. Both Motorola Edge and Edge+ will support 5G connectivity.

Motorola Edge's render shows a waterfall display and triple rear cameras.

On the front, the Edge+ should be covered by a 6.67-inch display, supporting up to Full-HD+ resolution. Interestingly, it will be the first Motorola’s smartphone to have a 90Hz display as well as the first 5G smartphone. Not just that, this is also the first time Moto packs a 108MP sensor on its smartphone. Meanwhile, the vanilla Motorola Edge will come with a 64MP primary sensor instead, alongside a 16MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens.

Motorola Edge+ will reportedly have a waterfall display and quad rear cameras with a 108MP main sensor.

In addition, the phone could be exclusively called Motorola Edge+ in the US and distributed by Verizon while it might come with a different name in other countries under the Motorola One brand.
