Budget Moto G8 Power Lite Listed On Google Play Console; Launch Seems Imminent

Motorola might be releasing a new smartphone very soon as the Moto G8 Power Lite has just been listed on the Google Play Console database after passing through Bluetooth SIG and Geekbench. The listing reveals multiple details on its specifications such as RAM, display resolution, Android version, and chipset. There is also a photo on the listing that shows the front panel of the phone. 

The photo shows that the handset will have a water-drop notch at the top of the display. The display will be surrounded by relatively thick bezels, especially the one at the bottom. It is quite interesting that the Moto G8 Power Lite on this new photo is different from the one shown in renders by WinFuture.de, which suggested the presence of a punch-hole display and triple rear cameras.  

Moving to the specifications, the Moto G8 Power Lite is listed with an Helio P35 octa-core chipset along with 4GB of RAM, which could be the only memory variant of this phone as all other smartphones in the Moto G8 series were announced in a single memory configuration as well. According to the listing, the G8 Power Lite will run on Android 9 Pie out of the box, but hopefully, it will have Android 10 pre-loaded at launch. Its display will support HD+ (720 x 1,600p) resolution, but the size is still under wraps. These are all details we have from the Google Console listing. 

Previously, it was listed on Geekbench with a single-core score of 172 points and a multi-core score of 896 points. Meanwhile. Its Bluetooth certification revealed that the device would support Bluetooth 4.2 standard. XDA Developers’ Editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman also suggested Helio P35 SoC & 5,000mAh battery, which seems to be accurate.
