Meizu 17 & 17 Pro: Specifications & Features
Meizu 17 & 17 Pro have the same design language, featuring an edge-to-edge screen with a punch-hole design on top. The two phones rock a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel, supporting 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Like its predecessors, the two handsets come with an in-screen optical fingerprint sensor that, according to Meizu, cut down the unlock speed to only 0.15 seconds.
The main difference between the vanilla Meizu 17 and the Pro version come from the finished material. Specifically, the vanilla model has a glass back while the Pro version's back is made of ceramic.
On the back, we can see that this year's flagships have a completely different camera design compared to previous lineups. Now, the four rear cameras are placed horizontally, looking quite similar to LG devices. Both versions will have the same 64MP f / 1.8 main camera using Sony IMX686 sensor.
Camera specifications of the duo are as follows:
Meizu 17:
- 64MP, f / 1.8: wide-angle camera (26mm), PDAF, OIS
- 12MP f / 1.9: 2nd wide-angle camera (24mm), PDAF
- 8MP f / 2.2: ultra-wide-angle camera (16mm)
- 5MP f / 1.9: macro camera
Meizu 17 Pro:
- 64MP, f / 1.8: wide-angle camera (26mm), PDAF, OIS
- 8MP f / 2.4: 3x telephoto camera (79mm), PDAF
- 32MP f / 2.2: ultra-wide-angle camera (15mm)
- 0.3MP f / 1.4: ToF 3D camera
In terms of hardware configuration, the duo is equipped with the most powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset, 8 / 12GB RAM and 128 / 256GB UFS 3.1 ROM. Both have 4,500mAh batteries, supporting 30W fast charging, but only the Pro version supports 27W wireless fast charging. These phones run on Android 10 with Flyme 8.1 interface on top to take care of the software side of things.
