Since the Redmi K20 was unveiled in May, it has received many praises for its features, affordable pricing and design. Recently, Lu Weibing, General Manager at Redmi, has teased about the launch of the Redmi K30 on Weibo. Additionally, he also disclosed that the upcoming smartphone will support 5G connectivity.

So far there has been little information about the phone. However, it is likely that the phone will probably be unveiled before May 2020. Anyway, it’s great to know that the device will have 5G support. Moreover, it can be the first Redmi phone in the mid-range segment to enable 5G network. Accordingly, the successor to the Redmi K20 Pro – Redmi K30 Pro is expected to support 5G as well.
The K20 flaunts a full-view display without hole-punch and notch. Instead, it features a pop-up selfie shooter. The brand probably uses this design again with small changes or totally new one for the K30. Additionally, the upcoming phone will definitely feature AMOLED screen and on-screen fingerprint sensor. However, the handset may come with a quad-camera setup on the back. And as the phone supports 5G connectivity, so it may have a 4,000 mAh or larger battery with faster charging solution as well. Because the company has not released any official announcement about the specifications of the phone, so you should take the above information with a pinch of salt.

In the meantime, the brand is set to unveil next-gen Redmi Note smartphones including Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro in the home market on August 29. It is expected that the Redmi Note 8 will be equipped with quad rear camera setup and come with Snapdragon 665 chipset instead of MediaTek Helio G90 as on the Note 8 Pro. As for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it will feature the world's first 64MP rear sensor with the 25x zoom support. Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro in India. Both the handsets go on sales in India through offline and online stores.
